This week the Labour run Cheshire West and Chester Council once again increased your Council Tax by the maximum possible amount.
This years 4.99% increase means that since Labour took over the Cheshire West administration in 2015, your Council Tax has risen by 40%.
Your Conservative councillors voted against this, arguing that we should be helping residents to keep more money in their pockets during the cost of living crisis we are all facing.
Despite the ever increasing tax receipts, this years budget once again failed to invest in the things that matter most to residents.
The road maintanence budget has been cut by £2 million since Labour took over the council, and our proposal to restore spending in this years budget was voted down.
Labour are simply out of touch. We can all see the worsening state of our roads, but Labour refuse to spend any more of their ever increasing council tax takes on our infrastructure.
